INTO the Nordic Silence<\/strong> family of furniture solutions are part of Nordea's new staff restaurant. The space was transformed into a spectacular, fresh and lively whole in November 2017.<\/p>\n

The Nordea restaurant building is one of the oldest buildings on the block. The renovation of the staff restaurant was aimed at improving the functionality and acoustics of the large space. The restaurant serves more than 2,000 lunches daily with four different food concepts, making it one of the largest staff restaurants in Finland.<\/p>\n

We wanted to visually divide the space into different areas that create different atmospheres for both lunch and work. The building's original industrial aesthetic was deliberately brought out and emphasised in the renovation. The aim of the restaurant is to attract employees to work in the space outside of lunch hours. The new staff restaurant also features products from the INTO the Nordic Silence furniture family that contribute to the functionality of a multifunctional office.<\/p>\n

The staff restaurant was to be divided into different parts in terms of soundscape and atmosphere. The acoustics of the long space were improved by sound-absorbing, ergonomic and high ceilings. INTO POINT sofas<\/a>, glass walls, various shelves and INTO POD ROLL SMALL<\/a> -furniture and acoustic wall surfaces.<\/p>\n

The restaurant has a large number of spaces that also serve as work and meeting spaces, some of which are also closed. The idea has been to provide suitable support spaces for a variety of needs, from quiet tasks requiring concentration to busy meetings.<\/p>\n

Multifunctional spaces were created by choosing easily movable, semi-powered units with damping elements for the restaurant's lounges. INTO POD ROLL SMALL <\/a>group work spaces. INTO POD ROLL SMALL<\/a> -fittings together INTO POINT sofas<\/a> share and soothe the open space of the restaurant. Multi-purpose curtains installed on the rails also delineate the space as meeting rooms that can be booked separately.<\/p>\n
