Material choices matter

At INTO Concept, sustainability is present at every stage of the design process, including the choice of materials. When creating quiet workspaces, acoustic solutions and flexible furniture, the material must support functionality, sustainability and the well-being of the users. That's why wood is a natural choice for us. It is a renewable and durable material, ideal for modern working environments. The wood we use is FSC-certified, which means that the raw material comes from responsibly managed forests.

A tree brings peace and naturalness to a space

The work environment directly affects how people concentrate, recover and interact with each other during the day. Materials play a major role in this. Wood brings a natural warmth, softness and calmness to the interior, which is particularly needed in open and multi-purpose working environments.

The use of wood also makes the space accessible. It does not feel cold or distant, but creates a pleasant and warm atmosphere around it. This is particularly important in quiet workspaces, such as In POD rooms, in phone booths and in acoustic workstations. When a space is designed for concentration, privacy and peaceful encounters, the materials must support the same goal. Wood helps to create an environment where it is easier to calm down, concentrate and work without the constant hustle and bustle.

Renewable material for responsible design

Wood is a renewable natural material. When sourced from responsibly managed forests, its use supports sustainable forestry, respect for biodiversity and the long-term use of resources.

FSC certification ensures that the origin of wood can be traced and that there are clear criteria for responsible forest management. For INTO Concept, this is an important part of material selection. We choose materials not only for today's needs, but also so that products can serve their users for a long time and adapt to changing working environments.

Responsible material choice is only part of the picture. A sustainable solution is the result of a long-lasting design, quality manufacturing, serviceability, flexibility and the fact that the product will remain in use for as long as possible.

Long life is an ecological choice

The most durable product is often the one that does not need to be replaced. That's why we design solutions that stand the test of time, both structurally and visually. Wood is an excellent material for this, as it ages beautifully and can be used in a wide range of interiors, even as trends change.

Workspaces are constantly living. Teams are growing, ways of working are changing and more and more flexibility is required. When furniture or a quiet workspace can be moved, recombined or adapted to a new environment, its life cycle is extended.

This reduces the need for continuous new purchases and supports the principles of the circular economy. The value of a product is not only created at the moment of its manufacture, but in how well it serves its users year after year.

Wood sequesters carbon and supports low-carbon construction

As the tree grows, it absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. When wood is used for long-life products, carbon is stored in the material for the lifetime of the product. This supports the use of wood in long-life work solutions, where the sustainability of the material and the lifetime of the product go hand in hand.

When considering the climate impact of material choices, it is important to consider the whole life cycle: the origin of the raw material, manufacturing, transport, service life, maintainability and post-use potential. Wood provides a good starting point for products that aim for durability, lightness and long-term use.

The choice of material is a choice of value

We want to create spaces that can withstand use, time and change. Wood supports this goal in many ways: it is renewable, versatile, warm and an ecologically sound material for long-lasting workspace solutions.

When the working environment is carefully designed and materials are chosen responsibly, the end result is more than just furniture or space. It is an investment in a better working day, a more peaceful environment and a more sustainable way of building functional spaces.
