Vesala Primary School has faced challenges with large open spaces. The open spaces have served as classrooms, but busy through-traffic has disrupted teaching and made it difficult to concentrate. This has been reflected in the daily lives of pupils and staff through noise, restlessness and a lack of peace and quiet in the premises.
The solution to the situation was STORY WALL -space dividers (47 units). The space dividers formed clear classrooms and corridors between the open space and the fixed classrooms. Since the introduction of the space dividers, traffic from the classrooms has calmed down considerably and teaching situations have gained much-needed peace and quiet.
The school has limited space and classroom facilities for the number of pupils, which has made finding suitable teaching spaces challenging at times. This has increased the flexibility of the school's facilities and made everyday planning easier.
STORY WALL – a wall-mounted and versatile space divider solution
STORY WALL is an acoustic space divider that helps organise spaces and enhance their acoustic comfort. The space dividers are connected to each other with integrated magnetic connectors to form a coherent and solid whole. However, if necessary, the space dividers can be moved and modified to suit the use of the space.
Thanks to their construction, STORY WALL space dividers are very sturdy and safe, making them particularly suitable for school environments. The sound-absorbing felt surface improves acoustics, reduces noise and prevents echo in high and open spaces.

Corner pieces and whiteboards as part of everyday life
Corner pieces can be used to create 90-degree angles and room-like units. At Vesala Primary School, they were used to create a separate, defined space at the end of a classroom to provide a calming or supportive space for pupils with concentration difficulties. The space allows for a momentary detachment from the rest of the class, but the student still remains part of the learning experience.
Some of the space dividers were added whiteboards, which serve as a versatile platform for announcements, educational content and showcasing students' art. In this way, the space dividers are not only a spatial and acoustic solution, but also an active part of the school's daily activities.
