Background

Restaurant Båx is a café and restaurant that has opened at Ilmala station. At lunchtime, the venue caters primarily for those working in the building, whilst outside lunchtime, local residents and workers use it as a café and a living-room-style workspace.

The restaurant also has two versatile meeting rooms. The architectural and interior design of the space was carried out by Interior designers Gullstén-Inkinen Oy.

Challenge

The premises of Restaurant Båx were designed to be flexible enough to serve a variety of purposes. The same space was intended to serve as a restaurant, a café, an atmospheric meeting place, a workspace and a venue for meetings and various events.

The space required furniture that would enhance its cosiness and comfort, whilst also supporting the restaurant’s versatility. The furniture had to be suitable for both the day-to-day running of the lunch restaurant and more casual use as a café and workspace.

Solution

Restaurant Båxi was chosen by INTO Concept’s POINT sofas to bring softness, comfort and better acoustics to the room.

The space functions seamlessly as a restaurant, a café and an atmospheric lounge for socialising and working. The restaurant and its meeting rooms complement the building’s multi-purpose offices and expand their potential uses.
