Background
The INTO the Nordic Silence product range The furniture solutions were chosen for Nordea’s new staff canteen. The space was transformed into a striking and fresh, lively space in November 2017.
The aim of the refurbishment was to create a restaurant that would cater for staff not only at lunchtime but also in other everyday situations.
Challenge
The aim was to create a space within the staff canteen that would encourage employees to use it for work and socialising even outside lunch breaks.
The aim was to divide the space into visually distinct areas that create different atmospheres for both lunch and work. At the same time, the aim was to highlight the building’s original industrial aesthetic and emphasise it in a considered way as part of the restaurant’s overall look.
Solution
These objectives were met using the adaptable solutions from the INTO the Nordic Silence product range. A number of these were installed in the restaurant POD ROLL venues, which divide up the space and provide cosy spots for quick meetings or a coffee break with a colleague.
The restaurant also features comfortable and ergonomic seating areas POINT sofas. The seat height of the sofas is similar to that of an office chair, and the slightly sloping backrest supports a natural sitting position.
Results from
With the help of the furniture solutions from the INTO the Nordic Silence product range, Nordea’s staff canteen was transformed into a versatile and adaptable space that caters for both lunch breaks and work.
The POD ROLL spaces divide the restaurant area and create room-like meeting places within the open space. The POINT sofas, in turn, bring comfort, ergonomics and cosy seating areas to the space.
As a result, the restaurant features a number of open, semi-open and enclosed meeting spaces, which cater for the staff’s various needs throughout the day.
