Background
Telia Finland's headquarters moved to new premises in the Tripla Workery towers of the Pasila shopping center in Helsinki. ISKU Interior Oy was responsible for the business premises project and furniture deliveries, and interior design was done by Interior designers Gullstén-Inkinen Oy.
Telia’s premises span ten floors, and each floor has its own theme. The themes reflect Telia’s ‘New Home in Helsinki’ concept, whose welcoming atmosphere draws inspiration from various areas of Helsinki. For example, Central Park, the wooden-house neighbourhoods, the harbour areas and Eira are reflected in the colours, materials and atmosphere of the premises.
Challenge
Telia’s new head office was designed as a multi-space office where every employee can find a way and a space to work that suits their individual needs. The premises were designed to offer a variety of workspaces for a wide range of tasks, from individual work requiring concentration to areas that encourage teamwork.
The move to new premises and the merger with subsidiaries under one roof also brought about changes to the working culture and ways of working. The project was based on the ”One Telia” concept, in which modern workspaces support networking, communication and inspiring collaboration, whilst also allowing for quiet, undisturbed work when needed.
The aim was to make the communal areas cosy and inviting. The living-room atmosphere had to be combined with functionality, flexibility and versatility. When it came to furnishing, Telia also prioritised responsibility and the values of sustainable development.
Solution
The following were elected to Telia’s head office INTO the Nordic Silence family of products furniture, which can be found on every floor. These solutions created support spaces and work areas of various sizes, whilst also enhancing the adaptability and versatility of the spaces.
Height-adjustable TOP LIFT tables They were used in office spaces as well as in lobbies and corridors because of their ease of use and understated design. POINT CUP sofa sets were placed close to the workstations, where they facilitate quick meetings and effortless teamwork.
The following were brought into the lobbies on the various floors CUBE sofas, which provide seating for both breaks and work. Acoustically quiet and pleasant POD ROLL The space was situated within an open, high-ceilinged restaurant area to provide shelter and tranquillity amidst the bustling surroundings. POD ROLL serves as both a workspace and a break area for four to six people, and thanks to its wheels, it can be moved effortlessly when needed.
Ergonomic POINT sofas were placed on various floors throughout the office towers. Their timeless design, combined with a wide range of fabric and colour options, made it possible to incorporate the sofas into different themes and a variety of spaces. The POINT sofas, fitted with supportive seat cushions, together with height-adjustable TOP LIFT tables Together, they provide a comfortable workspace even for longer periods. The sockets built into the sofas make it easy to use and charge electronic devices throughout the working day.
Results from
The furniture in the INTO the Nordic Silence product range supports Telia’s multi-space office objectives from floor to floor. They provide a variety of working options for working alone, quick meetings, group work, breaks and quiet moments of retreat.
The furnishings reinforce the homely and welcoming atmosphere of Telia’s ‘New Home in Helsinki’ concept, whilst bringing functionality, flexibility and adaptability to the spaces. The end result is a working environment that supports networking and communication, whilst also offering peace and privacy when the work demands it.
