Background

Trimble is a software company founded in 1978 and started operations in Finland in 2011.
Trimble Finland Oy. The head office moved to Leppävaara, Espoo, in 2021.

The new premises are used by 450 employees and consist of six floors. Three of the floors are office floors; the ground floor houses the lobby and conference centre; and the top floor contains multi-purpose facilities.

The following person was responsible for the project management and interior design solutions Interior designers Gullsten-Inkinen Oy.

The ceiling panels in POD rooms come in a wide range of colours.

Challenge

The new premises were expected to be adaptable and able to expand in line with the growing company and its staff. The project began with a needs analysis to determine how much and what type of office space was required.

The key themes that emerged from the needs analysis were flexibility, quality and sustainability. The spaces were required to support a variety of working styles, such as quiet concentration, collaboration, meetings, pair programming, online meetings and events.

As the workspaces are spread over three floors and staff have designated workstations, the layout also needed to facilitate movement and collaboration between floors.

POD PHONE phone booths are located on all office floors.

Solution

Furniture from INTO Concept was chosen for Trimble’s premises because of its flexibility, quality and durability. The package included various sizes of POD rooms, POINT sofas, CUBE- and CUBE SOLO -sofas, TOP tables, STORY WALL room dividers as well as STEP and ROLL IN -desks.

Furniture was used on every floor except the lobby. A wide variety of solutions were selected from the extensive product range to support the different uses of the spaces.

POINT sofas They were placed in the working lounge areas and as additional seating in the meeting rooms, where they add a splash of colour to the spaces and improve the acoustics. In the multi-purpose space, a long, fixed POINT sofa created a sense of calm in a room where other furniture was rearranged to suit the needs of various events.

On each floor, there is a working lounge adjacent to the kitchen, which is furnished POINT sofas, TOP tables and with telephone booths. The POINT sofas’ sloping backrests and firm seat cushions promote an ergonomic sitting position. The client opted for power sockets in every other sofa module to make it easy to work in the space.

TOP tables They are ideal for both coffee breaks and long working sessions. They are structurally sound and stand the test of time, both in terms of their features and their appearance.

Located near the workspaces are various-sized POD rooms areas. They offer the opportunity to retreat to work in peace, to pair-programme or to hold meetings with up to six people. POD PHONE phone heads is on every office floor.

Areas for collaborative working were also created near the workstations. POINT CUP-, CUBE- and CUBE SOLO -The sofas encourage teamwork, and thanks to their high backrests, they create an acoustically pleasant environment. The STEP IN desk can be adjusted to the user’s preferred height.

POD 2- and POD 3 - These workspaces are suitable for individual work requiring concentration, online meetings and working in pairs. ROLL IN -desks and POD rooms provide acoustic spaces for private work.

STORY WALL acoustic dividers They divide up the space and are also used for internal communication and sketching. They are available tussle stickers and Display- and marker holders, and thanks to the wheels, they are easy to move around as required.
